Edgar Aquino-Huerta is a filmmaker from a small town in Puebla, Mexico, called San Nicolas Tolentino. He studied Radio/TV/Film at Rowan University with a focus on screenwriting, graduating in 2020. Aquino-Huerta is also a local educator, community organizer, and public speaker. Currently, he is a Worker Organizer with El Comité de Apoyo a los Trabajadores Agrícolas (CATA).
His stories come from my own experience and different influential people in his life, such as family friends, agriculture workers, and undocumented entrepreneurs. He maintains a vision to tell coherent stories with different scenarios that center around Mexican leaders and culture because people of color have narratives that are more than social justice/immigration.
One of his biggest dreams is to write/direct a feature film, "Made in America," and use the earnings to open a film school in Puebla to provide opportunities, resources, and jobs for the community.
