Dr. Jose Laureano - Steering Committee Member

Dr. José Laureano is a seasoned higher education professional with over 25 years of experience serving New Jersey’s diverse student communities. He currently holds the position of Vice President for Student & Enrollment Services at Middlesex College, where he leads strategic initiatives to enhance student success, retention, sense of belonging, and institutional equity.

Dr. Laureano earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rowan University’s College of Education, where his research focused on Hispanic-Serving Community Colleges in New Jersey and the development of culturally engaged campus environments for Latino/a/x students. He is also a proud two-time graduate of Rutgers University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Latino & Hispanic Caribbean Studies and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Administration, Planning, & Policy. Dr. Laureano is a first-generation Puerto Rican college student who was born and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and is a proud product of the public-school system.
